Are we actually going to get organized and help our people? Or sit around online while attacks against Jews skyrocket in America?
-
Unfortunately YOU ARE RIGHT..JDL died with Rabbi Meir Kahane z'l..I originally came to this site hoping for the same thing as you....but there is no Command Structure and just a couple of Jews...To be fair..Chaim did act but that was 30 years ago...People on this site think I am a troll..but I am not...If anything I just became fustrated with Jewish apathy...I can't blame Chaim for this problem..because most Jews in America just don't care...It's a sad fact...
Thanks for the reply. It's refreshing to see I'm not alone.
I showed up here looking to get organized and maybe do something, ANYTHING to protect some of our communities.
The Jewish people desperately need something like the JDL now.
-
This is just a suggestion but if you're concerned about it why don't you start your own community groups to do a neighborhood patrol to look for troublemakers or start a class to teach local Jews self defense? The reason why nothing gets done in various causes is because people wait for other people to do them.

Great suggestion.
I tried. The rest of you never show up.
I served in the IDF and believe or not also the US Army. I have a background in MMA. offered to teach classes at the local JCC and was denied. I'm an NRA certified firearms instructor. Offered to teach proper firearm handling skills. You can imagine how much the liberal Jews loved that idea.
Tried to organize local Jews to counter protest BDS at a local college. Not one showed.

I would not give up..If you belong to a shul in the US...Get a CCW...and encourage your fellow Jews to do the same..If they can't don't worry...Carry anyway...The future of the Jewish people will be in the land of Israel not here....I know it's fustrating in Israel... Unfortunately it is going to take a big war to push all of Israel into a hard-line stance...I agree with you on Jews pandering to goyim in this country..Israel must act alone and not rely or grovel to evangelical christians..This is where I have a big-problem with Chaim and his pandering to them...It's a mistake...

You can't imagine how sad this makes me...I am almost to the point to say that Jews in America are done..I don't relate to the mentality of most of them...I am Sephardic and Ashkenazi..but the galut has diluted Judaism and it's true meaning...There is no study of Tanakh..and this is a major problem

Is it not obvious that these are the same person?

I was just having similar thoughts.

Im not Rashi. Obviously I can't prove that over the Internet. But this already speaks volumes about this place.
For goodness sakes.
Thanks for the constructive input.
I am frustrated about the current situation and was hoping to get direction from those who share my concern.

If you visited the leadership of an ORTHODOX shul and offered to teach these classes to its congregants you would very very likely NOT get turned away.

You know, I had Rashi pegged as a Guzofskyite but on second thought, I bet he's Homo, Jr. (Alexander Sporn).

That would be a cultural problem then at the root of it and something that can only be changed through patient advocacy and continuing to attempt to start groups to effect the change you want.

As I said, a cultural problem. If they don't want your help, there's nothing you can do to force it on them, but you can work to slowly persuade people. Sort of like, I don't know... sort of like this forum?

Well that's just pathetic. I guess they were so brainwashed that they didn't want to. They probably fall for the two state final solution as being a path to peace. This sounds like the kind of thing that would have to be changed on a one-to-one, individual level, or with propaganda explaining why this is a suicidal plan rather than a peaceful one.

JDL no longer exists is the US,however it still exists & is active in Canada & parts of Europe

JDL, by its nature back in the hay day, was an activist organization that had violent tendencies. Back then, it had its positive effect.
Today, even by Chaim, it's not advised to put good Jews in a situation where they break the law and then go to jail AND not have a recognition by the media. It's a different world today.
I don't know what the right answer is. Apathy is the wrong answer. Being afraid to speak out, is the wrong answer. Demonstrations are nice, but still, the answer?
I think the goal should be convincing people that we are right and at the same time, for Jews like me, who are not religious, learn the religion and understand what it means to be a proud Jew and what a Jew is supposed to be. Otherwise, secular nationalism won't last nor succeed for the Jewish people.

Right.
In the mean time what do we do about the people who are starting to try and kill us? And I'm talking about on US Universities.

Work on getting JDL type groups restarted in the US or even better move here to Israel!!!!!

I'm trying. I'm really interested in getting something started.
I already lived in Israel. Served in the IDF. For some reason I feel compelled to help my people in the diaspora.

Saving Israel is more important than diaspora brethren.

Undoubtedly. I need to keep everyone alive long enough to return to Israel.

Contact Chaim personally on the forum in his private message and ask him especially his vision.

JDL France is excellent, there is no leader the equal of the Rav zt'l but as an organization they are close to the JDL at its height in effectiveness for self-defense.

I will do this. Thank you.
