One of the great opera singers of all time has died.
I never really liked opera that much but I loved Luciano Pavarotti. He was so expressive, and extremely blessed. Wasn't he part of the Three Tenors trio?

Rest in peace, Luciano.

Yes it's a tragedy, what a voice that man had. But his voice did last much longer than the average opera singer, so we were blessed to hear him for as long as we did. Ciao Luca!

Ciao Luciano, RIP.

I remember him from the time I was a little child. I loved watching him on PBS!

Yesterday, when they announced that he was in "serious" (not critical) condition, I figured he might not have too much time left. But I didn't expect that he would be dead the very next day. It's very sad and this is an awesome loss. I'll certainly be watching the news tonight to watch his legacy.

RIP Luciano. Your voice will live on in all of us  :'(

Personally I use to listened to him during my teen years with my mother and father, we would watch him on TV or video, Its real sad that after all these years later to hear that such a great musician that me and my parents enjoyed has pasted away one which had skills that will never be replaced. RIP Luciano

I've heard so many people say that we was the nicest, most generous man they'd ever met.

Talent aside, what a loss.

I'm just curious how this relates to the JTF platform. Was he pro or anti Israel?

He worked in the arts. I dare say he had a lot of Jewish friends and colleagues.

Does it matter? Why must everything be a political or religious issue with you? Luciano will sorely be missed because of the beautiful gift God gave him and because he was a genuine human being.

Why must everything be a political or religious issue with you?

Because this is a political and religious forum. If it was a forum about music then I would be more concerned about his singing and performing style.
I'll agree that Pavarotti contributed greatly to the arts and he wasn't morally degrading like rappers are. Of course I don't know him well and that is why I'm asking the question. Just because he was artistically talented doesn't make him a good person. If he was a staunch supporter of Israel and America, I morn his death like others on this forum. If he was an anti-semite like Shakesphere who wrote the Merchant of Venice or one of the many antisemitic German symphony composers during the Holocaust, then my view would be different.

Political, religious, current events and how they affect us, culture, etc. Lots of points of discussion. Cmon, take a breath, and don't be a fanatic, fanatics are obsessive, and myopic, they are only good for one subject, and that is BORING. Ever try having a normal conversation with a Jeh-vah's Witness? Yeah, an act of futility, they're fanatically interested in only ONE topic too. We are human beings living life, life is multifaceted and complex, we are mutifaceted and complex, and so should the discussions be.

Im not sure if this makes him pro or against but he did preform in Israel

Quote
Pavarotti has appeared in concert in Israel, as a special guest of the Israel Philharmonic orchestra; and he was planning to add his voice to some opera music being performed by the Israel Philharmonic, which was touring recently in Italy before Pavarotti’s death.

He had a beautiful voice his death is a loss to the arts.

I'm still doing my research. So far it appears that he was a righteous gentile. I haven't been able to find too much information yet.
