Title: Israeli premature putting back clocks one hour
Post by: Mifletzet on September 11, 2007, 10:45:53 AM
Why do the Israelis put their clocks back one hour just before Yom Kippur?!

It thereby plunges the country into premature gloom already at 5 o'clock, denying them precious autumn twilight.

In the rest of the world they put the clocks back only in November!

Is it really done just to appease and keep the votes of the "unbelievably evil Sefardi Shas party" (as Chaim calls them!) because in their primitivi stupidity they beleieve they are thereby saving Ovadiya "Kessef" Yosef the "ardour" of an extra hour of fasting on Yom Kippur?! (Even though the fast is still 25 hours!).

It doesn't reduce the length of the 25 hour fast, so how does it make it easier?!

And to pay for that one hour of reduced "suffering" (on Yom Kippur we do have to afflict ourselves somewhat, y'know!), Israel's inhabitants are robbed of 2 whole months-worth of extra glorious late-summer and early autumn dusk light, as well as resulting in more traffic accidents.

Pathetic: quite Sefard-Haredi pathetic!
