The "front-runners" (Giuliani, Romney, Thompson and McCain) won't be participating. If any of them unfortunately win the nomination, then they'll be able to see that they didn't "pander" to any special-interest groups; this contrasts to the Dems who've participated in all sorts of debates that will geared toward specific groups.
