The university that houses the most notorious Middle Eastern Studies department in the country, which gave Iran's ambassador to the UN a platform last year to dismiss accusations of Iranian terrorism as Fox News propaganda , which capitulated to fear for Walid Shoebat's safety by closing his appearance on campus to the public, and which counts among its former presidents Dwight Eisenhower, who famously visited Nazi concentration camps himself so that he could personally bear witness to what happened there, is now set to host the world's most famous Holocaust denier on Monday.

Do you think they actually care? As long as people continue to send their children there for indoctrination and continue to pay thousands of dollars, they will not change their policy. As I've stated before on other matters, the final responsibility over all these issues that we discuss rests with the citizens that allow them to happen. You can counter demonstrate, peacefully or disruptively, all you want and it won't make any difference. Now, if a large majority of the students left the university in protest and Columbia's enrollment of new students was non existent, then you may get the results you seek.

It's amazing that a prestigious Ivy League school like this is spending its money for a Nazi like this. If I were a student or a parent of a student, I'd feel outraged and would object to having my tuition money being spent like this. If I wanted to spend money for my own demise, I'd rather hire Kavorkian than to pay money for this Nazi.

I heard on the news that after he arrived in NYC, he went to a hotel (not sure if it's the one that he's staying at) and was greeting by "Iranian nationalists" who are living in the US. They were happy to see him and gave him a warm welcome. A man was shown very happy to see Ahmadinejad. So if he like Iran's president so much, I doubt he likes the US. So why doesn't he move back to Iran?

It really is very sad to see the levels that Universities have sunk too. Liberal ideology is one thing however what has taken hold in the administration of places like Columbia University is subversive. Last night I had the TV on and stumbled on to a news station up in the higher numbers that I never saw before. The guy was saying that this midget hitler believes that he needs to start world war 3 in order for the end times prophecy to commence. Here he is lying through his teeth about not wanting or needing nukes and everyone in the room including himself knows he is full of cr-p. To put it plainly this is really a stupid animal and whoever arranged for him to speak at Columbia is a bigger dumb animal. They should have let this vile beast visit the trade center site and go down into the pit where sharp shooters could have taken him out once and for all. If the spirit of any 911 victims watch over that spot that more than any memorial would have make them happy.

there were some cheers and some jeers at that point...

I agree Curtis Sliwa was by far the best speaker. Does anyone know where there is a copy of his speech online? I'd like to hear it again. Most of the other speakers were very PC. I could not believe the amount of applause that Anthony Weiner got, fresh from his march in the Muslim Day parade. One black speaker even started rambling about Katrina and the Jena 6 trying to tie those things in with the event.
