Title: Did anyone notice that the Magen David monuments in Pittsburgh are on crosses?
Post by: Binyamin Yisrael on November 05, 2018, 11:35:40 AM
From behind, it looks like they were crosses and someone put a Magen David on the front. What a Chillul Hashem.

Rema in Yoreh De'ah 141:1 and ch. 150 states that even plain crosses which are bowed down to have the ruling of an idolatrous image.

So much for Zanis' christian solidarity.

???  They should have asked someone Jewish to make them.  People always look for something to complain about.  And I understand Jewish beliefs.  But he altered something he makes all the time for tragedy.  I don't think there is hidden intent or maliciousness in his work.  I am losing sympathy for people in general.  No good deed goes unpunished.

Since he follows the anti-Jewish new testament, he is anti-Jewish by definition. He wants to do a good deed? Now is the perfect time to get rid of the crosses and start following the Torah's 7 Commandments for Gentiles.

The person made them himself and donated them. No one asked him to make them. They should have refused them saying it goes against Judaism. At first I thought they made crosses since it's easy to hang things on a cross and then hung the Magen David on them. After all, that's the original function of a cross. Romans hung people on them for capital punishment. But now I see it was made by someone who makes crosses and just put a Maven David on the front.

Well, the article you posted said....A relative of one of those killed in the synagogue shooting reached out to him immediately afterward and asked him to make the personalized memorials — each with one coat of white paint, the name of a victim, a decorated heart and a message — in the shape of the Star of David rather than his typical cross design. By 1:30 p.m. Saturday, he committed to travel to Pittsburgh with the 11 stars.

As I said...no good deed goes unpunished.

I misread it. I thought it said he reached out to the victims. If they asked him to do it, they should told him not to give them one that looked like a cross. They should have returned it.
