Dear members of JTF,
Chaim was out walking and was hit by a car. He is currently in the hospital and has just come out of surgery. He will have to go through rehab and will recover soon.
Obviously, he will not be able to do the show this week.
Please keep Chaim in your prayers. Every prayer is important and can make a difference. This is a very difficult situation to say the least.

P.S. Also, anyone on the Hebrew forum, please translate my English message there for me.

... can I also pray he gets a boatload of cash in the suit and uses the money to do good, or should i feel as sleazy as i do now for being really really focused on that? If thats just too low then at least don't ignore every card the ambulance chasing lawyers give.
Of course bizras Hashem he should have a refuah shelema.

Chaim Ben Malkah should have a refuah shelemah.

It does not appear to be deliberate. The person stopped their car and called for help.

Oh. Now it's morally complicated to sue them if they're nice people...

Shlomo, thanks for letting us know. Any updates will also be greatly appreciated .
I hope and pray Chaim makes a full recovery, that any pain is minimal, and for the well being of Chaim's family.
In addition to being very concerned about Chaim, the same regarding his Mother, without Chaim being able to be with her at home.

Wishing Chaim a speedy recovery.
Also, watch out for this unscrupulous attorney's trick. Make sure you put in your attorney's contract that all medical expenses are deducted first, before the attorney takes his cut.
My grandfather was in a car accident, and wasn't aware of this protection clause and lost most or all of his monetary compensation because the crook attorney did not deduct my grandfather's medical expenses before taking his cut. I added the clause myself to my attorney's contract when I was rear ended. If the attorney refuses to accept the clause, find another attorney.
-
To clarify, I'm referring to medical expenses not covered by insurance should be deducted from your final settlement before the attorney takes his percent. Also- triple check that all doctor visits, procedures/surgeries and all physical therapy rehab is covered by insurance.
I was in a law office last year, and a lady was sobbing because the attorney directed her to physical therapy rehab that wasn't covered by insurance and never told her. I heard her say she ran up $20,000 in uncovered rehab bills, and wanted the attorney to split the bill with her. (Which seemed fair to me).
He refused.
Also, some attorneys take as much as 2/3. You have a great case- it appears 100 percent the defendant's fault, so a 1/3 attorney's cut is all he or she should receive.

I'll keep him in my prayers. Please keep us updated.

I am in contact with Chaim, he has already started his rehab process and the expectation is that he will be fully recovered in a few months.
Until then, he will continue to make progress and hopefully will begin his weekly programs again in the next several weeks, Be Ezrat Hashem (G-d willing).
