Title: The right to vote
Post by: RationalThought110 on October 14, 2007, 08:47:55 AM
I once posted about how I think there should be some basic standards to vote, including being able to read the simple directions, in English, on a ballot.  Ballots currently include some other languages and that's unfair to the many other foreign languages on a ballot.

Does voting require being a citizen or just a resident?  I don't understand how people could be a citizen without being able to read some simple sentences in English.

What's worse is that as I understand it convicted felons can not vote (or own firearms)...so does this mean that the muslim "refugee" just off the plane can come to the US and vote and Chiam can neither vote, or defend himself with force?  That doesn't seem right to me.  Also that's kind of some of the "blowback" we will get from attacking these muslim nations we'll get hundreds of thousands of new muslim "refugee's" as "citizens"  makes you wonder sometimes.

Are you sure Chaim is ineligible to ever vote in an election?

He was convicted of a felony, so he probably can't vote.
