Why did you have to eat MREs? I didn't know that you were still in the military.
My favorite fruits are bananas, apples, mangos, kiwis, and strawberries.

What are they?
MRE's are Meals Ready to Eat. They are hydrogenated foods with up to 2300 calories, reserved for our military when they're in the field for long periods of time without access to other foods. Some come with heating packs now so that you don't have to worry about burning wood, gathering pots and things like that to cook your foods.

I dislike MRE's. lol I'd have surely died in the field from refusing to eat them. HOWEVER, there is one thing in the MRE menu that I wouldn't mind trying one more time... the potatoes au gratin. They weren't bad. If I were starving though, I would eat that before eating the crackers. lol

You have a point there. MRE's for EVERYONE!!!! ... joking aside, do you know what MRE's could do for the starving in 3rd world countries? 2300 calories is enough to put weight on, and gather up enough energy to want better for yourself.

As our landlord's wife told us while we were living in Spain... "Americans are spoiled". SHe was right. I hadn't always had the luxury of having heat, water, or food but when I got a taste of the way life could be, and by the time we reached Spain, where there aren't any clothes dryers, and we had to buy butano to heat our apartment, bathe and cook. I grew to appreciate it by the time we left to move into base housing though.
...speaking of cooking , I've got to make dinner... I'll be back later.

Just about any, I love apples, oranges, grapes, all sorts of melons and berries. Plums and peaches. In fact when I have the need for something sweet it is for sure some cut up fruit salad.
Do what I do
That both still has their crunch
2 sliced up Washington Apples
2 sliced Golden Delicious
sliced strawberries and bananas
green seedless grapes
and a small orange diced up into a decent size bowl
add chopped walnuts and slivered almonds and a small dash of cinnamon and one sacklet of splenda mix it well and let it chill over night
and eat chilled with a bit of cool whip..
Also my grandmother's strawberries and sour cream dessert it is very good and not too fattening.
Slice up a pack of strawberries and mix it with vanilla extract and sour cream. Mix it well though that it blends, the cream has to become pink. Very yummy.. Enjoy grandma Wolf's Strawberries and cream dessert. O0 ;D

I forgot to mention fresh pineapple and strawberries (but not by themselves...I need some kind of sweetner to enjoy them completely. *Whipped cream or melted chocolate.* )
