Ever try swallowing a 1000 mg pill?  Those are pretty huge.

whats the point in using both the m which means 1/1000 and the 1000?

The mg is the standard measure for a pill... the 1000 implies it is very large. Typically you are looking at 250mg or 500mg for most pills. Sometimes 100mg.

Some are less than a mg - they are dosed in mcg(micrograms).  :)

I'm just saying, whats the point saying 1000mg, when it's far quicker to say 1g and it means the same thing...

Could be VERY confusing with the 1mg pill, these things are typically very small on packets.
