On a more serious note, they may look back with fond memories on the earlier days of the State of Israel, when an ugly, shapeless, elephantiasis-legged old yenta named Golda Meir governed through wars and peace with an iron will, intelligence, and refusal to compromise the security of the Jewish People.
Because they don't live in the U.S., and because the Israeli media is very P.C., they may just simply relate to a strong woman; especially in view of what passes for "male dominance" in their government today.
Hillary is in no ways uncompromised in her positions and backing, but I think all here on the forum would have to agree that she is one "strong" woman...loud and shrill and always making speeches and seemingly blessed with an amazing amount of energy and determination.
In my humble opinion, McCain, Osama, Olmert, Barak, make an impression of lackadaisical, weak-willed, weenies; too spineless to even fight each other with words.
In Israel, there seems to be none on the political landscape, either male or female, capable of fighting for Jewish Nationalism with the kind of determination and drive with which Hillary is gifted.
Too bad she's such a total demagogue.
I vividly remember the days of Golda Meir...socialist and leftist, to be sure, but a lioness defending her cubs on matters of Jewish Nationalism.
Those were the days when the leftist kibbutzniks aged 18-21 were ardent Zionists, refused to consider defeat, and gave their lives for the defense of Israel far out of proportion to their actual percentage of the Israeli population. Then, an IDF Officer didn't order his troops into battle...the officers personally led their men into battle...the days when the IDF never left their wounded on the field of battle, even if it meant losing their own lives.
Personally, I would prefer Israelis to be more in the mold of the original leftist pioneers if it would mean their dedication to being Jews firmly planted on their own Land. Ever since Israel advanced materially, the great majority of Jews there seem to have lost their love for Eretz Yisrael, choosing instead the pursuit of material wealth, comfort, and status. No longer does the average Israeli take pride in their Land. Today it seems their only goal is making more and more money and trying to emulate the West. And indeed, Israel emulates the West...widespread poverty, homelessness, crime out of control, an ideology based on considering everything and everyone for sale; even if it were to result in the death of Israel.
I don't reject working to achieve a strong economy; but I would rather have a very disadvantaged and "poor" country inspired by Nationalism and Self-determination in which mothers taught their children that they must never leave Eretz Yisrael, than to watch "modern American mores and values" produce cowards and queers with cell phones and a stock exchange portfolio, without the will to fight and win.
Give me a vibrant and powerful State of Israel, regardless of economic system or political ideology, and I'll trust the rest to G-d, because it seems like the values of living on and working the Land with your hands, taking on every possible type of employment necessary for a civilization, and Jewish self-reliance, have all been sacrificed to the Moloch of Globalism and Internationalism.
