you know the most beautiful recent moment I had in Israel was when i was in the Galilee in Tiberias. I couldn't sleep because something was bothering me and I stepped outside in the terrace of the hotel and stared at the clear night sky at all the stars.  I was pondering and thinking and worrying then I saw a shooting star cross my path..then it stopped, winked at me, and disappeared...

I stayed up the rest of the night thinking about that sign. Around sunrise, I faced in the direction of Jerusalem, put on my T'fillin and prayed with tears in my eyes for my hopes for the future.

Most moving moment for me this summer.

Israel has good places to view the stars. In major US cities, there is light pollution.

I know! it drives my crazy! I live in the Florida Suburbs, but still the light pollution is so bad I can see maybe one or two stars at night, if im lucky..i used to find the night sky very calming..
