Greetings Chaim. I read that Orthodox Jews can't spay or neuter their pets. I've been caring for some feral cats in my neighborhood and I can't help but think if someone had spayed or neutered their parents, that they wouldn't be out on the street subject to weather, predators, cars, and mean people.

The shelters are working overtime euthanizing animals due to the huge overpopulation because people didn't neuter their pets.

If the Jewish rule against it is to prevent cruelty to the animals, I could understand it in a previous time period when there weren't painkillers for neutered animals during surgery, but these days it seems like it is a much kinder thing to do than to not do. Is it possible that this prohibition could no longer apply in some cases?

There is a huge double standard in the way the two sexes are allowed to behave towards each other. A man who pleads and persists is a "stalker", but a woman who does is "determined" and "just wants closure". A man who breaks up with his girlfriend is a "heartbreaker" or "player", but a woman who dumps her boyfriend or husband is "being gutsy" and "standing up for herself". A man who yearns to get married is "desperate", but a woman who does is "idealistic" and "family-minded". A man who rejects any woman for any reason is being "shallow", but a woman who selects men on the basis of wealth, popularity, height, etc. is being "selective" and "having standards". Sadly, this has permeated much of the religious population of the West.

How would you go about reversing the gender double standard, Chaim?

I'd like to ask you another "devil's advocate" question.

JTF advocates the destruction of the Iranian nuclear project.  How do you respond to critics who object as follows:

(1) you can destroy their progress, but they will simply restart and rebuild and next time it will be more difficult to destroy, much as the Iranian project is now more difficult than the Iraqi project in Osirik was in the 1980s.

(2) even if you destroy the Iranian project, Pakistan already has nuclear bombs.  The "Islamic bomb" already exists and the knowledge will be shared.  You can destroy the factories but you can't destroy the knowledge because "the genie is already out of the bottle".

I'm just playing devil's advocate because these are the objections I frequently here.

Your family from your mothers side lived for centuries in Egypt. This must have been a real nightmare for them to live among this Muslim scum. I personally would prefer to live among pigs than among Muslims.
I can imagine that this has been also very dangerous knowing the Muslims who riot and use violence very easily especially when they are jealous because of the achievements of the infidels.

The Christian Copts, the descendants of the originally population of Egypt, must endure this situation till this day.
Now I wonder, was there some solidarity between the Jews and the Christian Copts of Egypt? Or did the Copts behave like unfortunately most of the Arab Christians in the Middle East: in other words like thugs?

I always hear people talk about how tolerant the Muslim world was towards the Jews during the Medieval times. I got used to hearing this from teachers. My understanding is that the Jews were allowed to live in these countries but they were second-class citizens, and they were forbidden from carrying a sword or riding a horse. That would have been quite a degrading thing in those days, since a man without a horse and a sword would have had very, very low social status. The Jews of the Muslim world were also pressured to convert to Islam and there certainly were acts of violence against them. I fail to see how they were much better off in Muslim countries than they were in Europe. Holy Roman Emperor Charles the Fifth even granted a Jew heraldic arms and made him a Knight of the Garter during the 1500s - I'm aware of no such act taking place under any Muslim ruler. So it seems to be far from a black and white issue.

What is your take on this? Do you feel that the academic notion that the Muslim world was far more tolerant towards the Jews is a form of politically-correct, revisionist history?

Most of the guns did not originate in the US in fact only a fraction were ever scanned. That has not stopped them from making a false claim about 90% of guns being from the USA. To your credit,   you were heavily critical of Colin Powell years ago,    when most people,   including myself,     looked at him more favorably.       Once Powell endorsed Barack Hussein Obama for President this past October,    I realized that Powell was a total fraud.       Now,    Powell is making an overt effort in attempting to pull the Republican Party to the left.       
     

My question to you is as follows.     What do you believe is the best course of action for true Conservatives to counter what Colin Powell is attempting to do?

I have been reading two books recently.  One is Aaron Kleins "The Late Great Israel"  In it Klein reviews all the disastrous things Israel has done in the last 15 or so years from Gush Katif, to intentionally not winning wars in Gaza and Lebanon, to the war against its Jews (such as Amona) and lists all the outside forces posing threats such as the Iranian Nuclear Program and Obama's hostility.  I agreed with every word he wrote and learned a few things such as how many leading and vicious terrorists are on the payroll of the supposedly moderate Palestinian Authority.

Then I read a book about Judy Feld Carr, the wonderful Canadian Jewish woman who basically ran a covert operation from her home to free Syrian Jews largely by bribery.

I was struck by the contrast of loud complaining (no doubt I engage in my share of that) versus quiet but very effective action.  I try to support groups that do that today, such as Efrat Crib the group that tries to convince women in Israel not to have abortions and Chabad which although they differ greatly with my more secular view of the world are doing good work to keep Jews involved in the Jewish world.  I have also been interested in the Hilltop Youth for the same reason in that they are running a campaign to keep Jewish land in Jewish hands by physically settling the land.  My overall point is that I am more interested in groups that are taking actions than ones making noise.

Are there any other groups you can think of that fit this bill?  Do you foresee a time when JTF will be more action oriented?  Obvioulsy the success of the JDL came from its actions to a great extent although they were hardly quiet actions.

in France was founded an "Anti-Zionist-Party" with an unusual membership. It contains ex Front National members, some blacks and of cause Muslims. The leader is a black comedian called Dieudonné M'bala M'bala. Of cause this sounds like a joke, but it is reality. They are supported by Tariq Ramadan.

This is a woman who has gone on record stating that she will use her race and gender as important factors in legislating from the bench. What an imbecile. Of course she went to these schools - that is how our perverse system works, unfortunately! I have never understood why there are more non-religious Jews than Christians in America? Is it because most of the Jews in America are self-hating and don't want to be associated with Torah Judaism and their beliefs? There are some non-religious Atheist Christians but not as many as Atheist Jews in the U.S. Some of the Jews I have spoken to in the past are Atheist and from my point at view, it looks like they are ashamed to be Jewish. This is not a good attitude and behavior if we want Israel, America and Western Civilization to be saved. We need righteous Torah believing Jews in Israel.

I work in an atmosphere with persons of African American background.  Knowing that I am of the Jewish faith one of the asked me “There have been so many terrible things that have happened throughout history, why do the Jews think they are the only ones that have suffered?”  I said the Holocaust is without precedence in history, because one third of an entire race was murdered while the entire world watched and did nothing.

Another asked “Why ain’t there no Jewish gangsters?”  I said there used to be some Jews involved in organized crime but Jewish doctrine  puts an emphasis  on family and responsibility and that is why you don’t hear about Jews being in gangs.

What do you think of my answers and how would you respond to those questions.

I think it's remarkable that JTF predicted 9/11 long before it happened.  In retrospect, tracing the proliferation of Islamic terrorist activity since the first world trade centre bombing in 1993 shows an escalation that could only logically and tragically lead to 9/11. 

Now that Obama is leading America's national security to ruin, do you predict that America will be attacked again, possibly in the near future?

I have a Morrocan Israeli friend that says he's Morrocan whenever somebody asks him what nationality he is.  He said he was afraid that since the whole world hates Israel they will give him problems if he says he's Jewish or Israeli. 

Now I can understand an answer like that when a Muslim taxi driver asks a question like that.  However in the other instance I disagree with the concept of being afraid of what people think.  What do you think I should tell him?
