I don't like the message this thread sends. But at the same time I don't understand why Michelle Obama is portrayed as some kind of beauty queen by the media. If she wasn't the first lady, she would not be branded as a beauty that's for sure.

It's not just the American media that's giving her all this attention, but here in Canada too and in international media as well. They all keep referring to her as some kind of fashion icon. It's ridiculous how much attention she's getting because of her apparent "good looks" and "fashion sense". I see no beauty in her and It's pretty easy to wear the newest and most elegant clothes when you're rich as hell.
