What to do about Iran
« on: June 25, 2009, 08:02:37 PM »
I listened carefully to Chaim's remarks on Iran from the last Ask JTF.  While he is correct that the contender in the election might be no better than Acmedinejad (sp) I think the issue has progressed way beyong that.  While the losing candidate was just another candidate allowed by the Mullahs the riots in the street are not just whether to make the President the Mullahs' first or second choice it is a direct challenge to the authority of the Mullahs.

Most of Iran's population is young, most born after the Iranian Revolution that brought the Mullahs to power.  Much of what I have read is that they would like more of a western culture.  It is very hard to know what will replace the current government but it is unlikely it will be worse than what Iran has now.  If there is a real revolution there is a real chance there will be an abandonment of Hamas and Hizballah, especially with reports that these terrorist beasts are helping to subdue the protesters.

If the Israelis could provide the opposition with just basic arms it could work wonders.  If a few Revolutionary Guards or Hamas thugs get shot by protesters or their supporters shooting back you might see  a massive abandonment of the Mullahs by the military.  I think given the upside of change and very little downside (perhaps the big mouthed enemy being replaced by the clever enemy is the downside) it is an obvious choice for Jews, Americans and all freedom loving people to help the Iranians bring down their government.
We all need to pray for Barack Obama, may the Lord provide him a safe move back to Chicago in January 2,013.

I agree with you however, the root of the problem in Iran is Islam.
The youth of Iran are also devout muslims so while they crave freedom
and the western way, they also may refuse to abandon Islam completely which
is what keeps the hatred alive.
They may change, but Islam will keep them at bay from having complete freedom
and tolerance for those who are not muslim.

I am not claiming it will become a utopia but Iran would be much less of an enemy and threat to Israel and the west without the Mullahs.  I am also unsure how committed to Islam the youth of Iran are.
We all need to pray for Barack Obama, may the Lord provide him a safe move back to Chicago in January 2,013.

I'll say the same thing that has those in my department at university cringing: Bombing Iran is the only solution.

The supporters of the oppsotion are no better.  Every night they go on to their roofs and scream Allahu Akbar (pardon my language), praising an idea of G-d that is demented and evil.

Dox got it right.  The problem is Islam, and there's no fixing it.

Nothing else can be done to them. Encourage their internal fight and when some good time emerges, destroy them completrely.

Some Iranian muslamics must be fearing that Ahmadinezad is a part of Jewish conspiracies. Let them fear it till their end.

One week before the elections in Iran, the youth, hidden behind different things said they were sick of everything being forbidden. Music is haram, applauses are haram, pets are haram, women have to use veils even with a heat beating 56°C in shadow! And all of them said: Yes Iran is Islam, it is pure Islam - inhuman, archaic and full of hatred. We want to get rid of this government we want to get rid of Islam and it's traditions. We want freedom and peace with ALL people not only with those our government calls it's friends!
Also they are sick of the extreme poverty even though the country has the world's biggest oil reserves after Saudi-Arabia.
I can very well understand the youth. I think the stricter the Sharia is applied onto the people the more they feel the need to get rid of Islam. If people feel well as in Dubai or elsewhere and have a bit of freedom, they are Islam supporters as they do not even know what an "Islamic Republic" would mean for them.
But the elections stuff couldn't have turned out better for the West and Israel! First because Iran has to care for itself right now and second because a peaceful victory for Mousavi would have turned into nothing new. This what occurs now can lead to a counter-revolution with the mullahs being driven into exile (which I fear will be in Europe!).  :)

All countries with an emergent offensive nuclear capacity should be flattened. It matters not one jot whether or not they are democracies.

But Iran 30 years ago under the shah was moving towards a more secular society.  I wonder if Islam is so entrenched, especially with these protests, that the mullahs can't be dislodged from power.

By the way, for all the pro gun control individuals out there, THIS is what the 2nd amendment of the Constitution is for!  And if you think it can't happen here let's see what happens if BHO is elected to a second term and he implements his civilian "security" force.

when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

Destroy their nuclear program and let them have their backwards Islamic society.
The city isn't what it used to be. It all happened so fast. Everything went to crap. It's like... everyone's sense of morals just disappeared. Bad economy made things worse. Jobs started drying up, then the stores had to shut down. Then a black man was elected president. He was supposed to change things. He didn't. More and more people turned to crime and violence... The town becomes gripped with fear. Dark times, dark times... I am the hero this town needs. I am... The Coon!!!

Islam in Iran can be destroyed within a decade by money, MTV and porno. If Iran were allowed to westernize, the influence of Islam would quickly erode.
Obama must use a magic 8-ball, because if he were flipping a coin he'd be right about half of the time.

Islam has 1.5 billion followers, so that means we are going to be outnumbered in a few decades
and if we get outnumbered we can all kiss our existences goodbye.

I hope some Countries wake up soon and realize Islam is going to have to be eradicated.

This is complicated. If we are talking about Western Turkey, which is an area which I know well, then I would partly agree. However, the many thousands of British Muslims undergoing terrorist training in Pakistan and Afghanistan are there largely as a reaction to what they see as the decadence of Western Europe, not the reverse.
