http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=352134A 30-year-old Huntley man is facing up to three years in prison following his weekend arrest on allegations he secretly video recorded his now ex-girlfriend while she took a shower.
Mario N. Nunez, of the 11200 block of Fleetwood, is charged with one count of unauthorized videotaping stemming from an incident police said occurred April 29, 2009 in his home.
Huntley Deputy Police Chief Todd Fulton said the department began investigating the claims after Kane County Sheriff's police received a complaint from the woman that Nunez had been sending her harassing e-mails.
"He was sending her e-mails of the video he had taken," he said.
Investigators, Fulton said, subpoenaed phone records to gather evidence of the recording, then obtained an arrest warrant for Nunez Friday. He was arrested at his home Saturday afternoon and transported to the McHenry County jail. He is now free after posting $5,000 bond.
Fulton said there is no evidence Nunez sent the recording to anyone else, or that he recorded the woman on more than one occasion.
The charge against Nunez is a Class 4 felony punishable by a maximum one to three years in prison or probation. He is scheduled to appear in court on the charge Feb. 1.
