http://www.wftv.com/news/22777529/detail.htmlPALM BAY, Fla. -- According to investigators, three children were left home alone in Palm Bay while their mother went out shopping. A cable guy found the children when he stopped by the house on Dorchester Road Monday.
Neighbors said 21-year-old Kissanna Bailey was bound to get caught.
Palm Bay police and the Department of Children and Family Services were called because the cable guy found her 3-year-old twin girls and their 2-year-old sister home alone. Neighbors said it’s not the first time.
“I wanted to call the law one day, but then I didn't want to be the neighbor causing problems either,” eyewitness Craig Becker said.
Police said part of the problem is no one spoke up and the three children were left in filthy conditions Monday. Investigators found clothes waist-high all over the home and no food or water.
The cable guy told investigators the front door was wide open when he stopped by for a service call.
Police said the children's mother showed up an hour-and-a-half after the children were found and claimed she left them with an uncle.
“She should be prosecuted and locked away for good for that,” Becker said.
Neighbors said the children play at a window on the side of the home all the time and, just last week, they climbed out to play on a swing set in the backyard and made their way to the street.
“Kids disappear, get raped, predators live around. That's the last thing you need to do,” eyewitness Tammy Thurber said.
WFTV checked and found that there are eight sexual predators within a one-mile radius.
Bailey was taken to the hospital for evaluation, because police said she had a seizure during her arrest. However, she will go to jail for child neglect when she's released from the hospital.
Bailey has been arrested in the past for outstanding warrants, forgery, and fraud.
