What the hell is it?

The end of freedom.

Snarky responses aside. It is a government take over of health insurance, and a mandate forcing all Americans to buy health insurance whether they want it or not. The government will be FORCING you to purchase a product. This is un-Constitutional.

Here's the thing Mo.  Our health care system in the U.S. has problems.  Buying insurance for individuals or for small business is very expensive, and the coverage is not that great.  On the other hand, if you work for a big company, like Philip Morris, the benefits are excellent.

But regarding individuals, I posted on my blog a while back about a healthtywoman in Colorado who was denied individual insurance.  The reason was that she had a caesarian section.  The only way the insurance company would cover her was if she got her tubes tied.

Anyway, Obamacare attempts to give insurance to 45 million uninsured people (many of whom are illegal aliens).  It will be against the law for insurance companies to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions, or to drop people who are sick.  Ever American will be forced to buy insurance, which is a violation of our Constitution.  There are a whole bunch of taxes to pay for all this.  There will also be cuts to Medicare (which is insurace for people over 65.  Instead, the money will be pumped into Medicaid, which is for the American poor.  The bill is expected to cost at least a trillion dollars.

Now I've been blogging about how this bill will affect ordinary Americans, doctors, hospitals, Medicare recipients, and manufacturers of surgical devices.

Thanks Lisa. So it won't be like Canada or England where you can basically get anything done for free, it'll require hundreds of dollars a month for health insurance? I mean it's good that insurance companies won't be able to pull that horrible crap, but essentially the only difference is if someone who previously was uninsured needed a hospital stay or surgery they wouldn't be hit with a bill for thousands if not tens of thousands dollars?

This has nothing to do with health care, and everything to do with socialism. This is simply a wedge to get their foot in the door and neo-communism started. It will be fought and overturned. In November we will have a Conservative Senate, and in 2012 a Conservative President. If they try to usurp those elections, we will have a revolution to restore the Republic.

Yeah, totally unprecedented, never been done before. I mean, it's not like the government forces people to, I don't know, let's say, pay into a retirement plan against their will. :o

That's 100% WRONG too, it is not the US government's job to be a pension! Social Security, isn't that bankrupt? Yeah, lets start another massive financial fiasco.

Look fella, there's no free lunch. The costs of that hospital visit will be passed on to the taxpayers. I don't want to pay for the insurance of unemployed chronic alcoholics, or unemployed chronic smokers, or other unemployed degenerates and illegal aliens. ObamaCare rewards failure and is a burden on the productive members of society. Not to mention it's the nail in the coffin of our economy.

There is a need for true health care reform, Tort reform, free market intervention in the private sector, etc. But government run nationalized health care? The government can't even run the God damn Post Office efficiently! We need this like we need a hole in the head.

Dont be fooled folks, this has absolutely nothing to do with healthcare. Those marxist snakes couldnt care less if you or me or anyone dies, its all about power and control. Control the money, then u easily control the ppl (healthcare is 1/6 of the economy).

Healthcare needed reform, but it couldve been done WITHOUT govt takeover. The focus shouldve been on cost reduction, not expansion. Some states have only 2 or 3 companies that have a monopoly on the system and then jack up rates. Easy answer---allow interstate insurance. Instead of 2 or 3 companies, youll have hundreds across the nation competing for consumers--costs would dramatically come down. The marxists know this and intentionally left it out because their objective has nothing to do with healthcare.

And things like pre-existing conditions, abuse protection, etc couldve all been done without govt takeover. Dont believe their lies !!

PS Anyone hear about the 17 thousand IRS agents theyll be hiring to chase after folks who dont buy Obamacare ? Wow, thats hideous.

Bye bye American Pie

So it's just another way for the government to make money and to screw its citizens? What else is new?

Um, no. The government does not make money. The government TAKES money from people who MAKE money. There is a big difference.

Regarding the need for health care reform and other ways that it could have been done, those other ways presume that the reformers are pro free market capitalists who actually want the U.S. economy to prosper. Is that really what we have in Washington today?
