Orioles, Yankees, Nationals, and Mets all off on Rosh Hashanah
« on: September 08, 2010, 12:57:43 PM »
The O's and Yankees are playing a day game against each other now and so are Nationals and Mets. All 4 teams are off on Thursday and do not play another game until Friday night. An incredible amount of America's Jews live in the NYC area and the Baltimore/DC region. At least we can say we will not miss any games.

And for the football fans out there.... Monday night is NOT a Holiday and the Ravens and Jets will be playing a HUGE game to open the season up at the new stadium in NJ.

I'm sure a lot of ticket holders and people who buy on gameday are Jewish and the teams will make more money if they play some day other than the High Holidays.   But maybe it's also to show respect for us too, who knows.   The Yankees did fire the antisemitic opera singer when he made an antisemitic slur last year, so I give them credit for that.
