http://networkedblogs.com/nysq4Three Palestinians were killed and four others were injured following the collapse of a tunnel in southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical source reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the accident occurred in a tunnel adjacent to the Egypt border, when an explosion – presumably caused by butane gas cylinder – caused the underground passage to cave in.
Numerous tunnels have been dug under the border between Egypt and Gaza since Hamas had taken over the Strip and the subsequent blockade imposed on it by Israel.
Arms smuggling through the tunnels are prevalent, and they are considered crucial weapon pipelines for the Strip's terror groups.
More than 100 Palestinians have been killed in recent years in accidents in Gaza's smuggling tunnels.
