This did not bother the secular Israelis, who viewed them as a demographic and vote counter-balance to the Haredim and Arabs, as well as arriving with useful professional and linguistic skills, being economically self-motivating and willing to serve in Zahal.

A generation later they have become thoroughly Israelified i.e. just like most Israelis they are indistinguishable from law-abiding socially productive Hebrew-speaking somewhat-Judaized gentiles!
