The problem with legged robots for military or service use is that should the robot flip over, it is completely useless to the world. They are also slow, and damage to a single leg destroys the system. See the last robot on the front page movie of roboticsdesign.ca for a better version of a rough and uneven terrain mobile robot.
This robot is supposed to be going into military service later next year.   I'm sure military leaders should consult with you first, before implementing.  lol
