Is Red China a threat to the United States?

Does anyone think that Communist China is a threat to the United States?  Do you know that they hold over a trillion dollars in US currency, and if they decide to dump their US dollars, that can cause a global run on the dollar, leading to the collapse of that currency?  That the US is on the wrong side of an ~$800 billion trade deficit with China?  That China has de facto control over the Panama Canal, since Panama leased operations to a Chinese corporation (all Chinese corporations, according to Chinese law, must sell 51% of their stock to the Communist government)?

Anyway, if you think so, be sure to leave a detailed answer.

My father didn't think so, since China, unlike Al-Qaeda, doesn't seem like an obvious threat.  He thought that Communism was gone for good, that it would never again threaten the United States, and wasn't even going to hear anything else.

Yes China is a big threat, thanks to the Bush-Clinton criminals who sold our military technology to Communist Red China. In my state of California Clinton sold off our Marine military navy yard to Cost Co a communist chinese Company I believe this will be the stageing ground for the future

Absolutly China is a threat cause they along with the Russians are assisting the Muslim maniacs.  Muslims are stupid but Red China has some of the most brilliant minds on the planet even thought the Chinese have been oppressed under Communism.  This makes them a tremendous threat to the U.S. and as well as Israel and the rest of the west.

In politics there are no eternal friend or foe. Of course Russia is selling arms but not to muslims in general, Countries.

Chechnya is a muslim province that has plotted many terrorist acts against the Russians, The school in Beslan, the Moscow Theatre etc.

The Russians have fought against the Mongols and Turks. Trust me if anything happens Russia will shut them all down.


As for China, I don't see them as a threat to Serbia ( since I'm a Serb), But for America who knows. I mean you bombed their embassy in Serbia. That's not very friendly:P

They support the Serbian side in the Kosovo conflict and they are against north Korea's nuclear arms. Although they were allies before.
So I just think that China will be a Superpower, but not necessarily in war against USA.

No I have to disagree with you here. Americans had the world by the b-lls 50 years ago. The could have squashed any thing in their path like a bug on the bumper of one of our old American cars. America and its people are to nice and forgiving and have taught their children to be the same way. And it makes us appear as you describe. Thats why I go with Teddy Roosevelt's 'Might Makes Right" if that policy was followed the world would be singing a different tune.
