Ultimate Burning Question...
« on: August 06, 2007, 04:12:13 PM »
Was Milosevic a good guy or bad guy???  I seem to get different opinions, even from Serbs.  I haven't found any definite answer.

If Clinton and the rest of the establishment hated him, then I LOVE him.

He saw the islamic threat, and was doing something about it, he realized that it wasnt going to be pretty or easy but it had to get done....and he also realized something most of our leaders are refusing to realize, there are no hearts and minds to be won in the islamic world.

You probably don't need to do much research. The UN and EU hated him, so he was no doubt good.

Milosevic was comunist. So he was interested just for power, not for people at all. He was a Serb but still he betrayed Serbs in RSK (Republika Srpska Krajina-Serbs in Croatia), Serbs in Bosnia and Kosovo! He should be punished not for war crimes (cause he did not ordered any), but for betrayal of Serbian people!

As I learn more about Milosevic, the more I like him, but Marko_serb's answer does concern me.  However, fewer Muslims in the world make it that much better.

How did Milosevic betray other Serbs?

he didnt betray anyone.. he did all he could to protect all the serbs he could. imagine.. serbia was comitted "NOT GUILTY" of helping The bosnian serbs in srebrenica to kill there. but still he managed to help other serbs who needed help. he could not help ppl in kosovo, bosnia and RSK at the same time. there was simply not enough forces. BUT. he helped out with little JNA forces that was left. And the bosnian serbs did a good job in bosnia. we now have 49% of their country, and then there is the "Herceg-Bosna" state, which is croat. then there is very little space left for the muslims.

SO.. milosevic is imo a nice guy. who did all he could to protect the serb ppl..

and of course he was a communist? EVERYBODY in former yugoslavia was communist.. even your dad marko..
What the Vatican is to the Catholics, The Wailing Wall to the Jews.. Kosovo Is to the Serbs.

Ok here Im going to end the debate:P

1. Milosevic betrayed Krajina, Republika Srpska and Kosovo. If the bastard had some balls we would have probably won those wars.
2. Serbs don't like Milosevic, those that do are confused.
3. Just because we don't like him doesn't mean that we do not support him. If we would have prosecuted him in Serbia it would have been the end of him. but since the hauge bullshitcourt prosecuted him serbs stood up for their expresident. We are allowed to hate him not the rest of the world. We might have hated and talked negativly about him thats fine, but when someone else does it, oh no no.

There is no definite answer, still. It is matter of personal opinion, but maybe history will give us definite answer soon. I remember time of his government. It was terrible time for my people, not only because of wars, but because of moral insanity of his government. It was time of stealing from people, drugs, sects, pornography etc.

Milosevics best interests were to save the serbs and its lands the reason why so many serbs didnt like him in the end was because of the west and its propaganda i knew the man personally he had our best interests in heart. He had the balls to fight against muslim terrorists and lets not forget he was innocent as was not charged but left to die! God rest his soul

Serbia will never surrender Kosovo to the breakaway province's ethnic Albanian majority or trade its territory for European Union or NATO membership,

Milosevic was a socialist who expressed absolute support for the PLO and their aspirations of Jewish annihilation. Whilst there is no doubt that he handled the muslim problem correctly and had the best interests of his people, he was by no means righteous in terms of his political worldview.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is horrible logic.  That being said, I don't have an opinion on the guy one way or the other.
