Rabbi breaks 1,000 TV sets

Rabbi Amnon Yitzhak held a protest against television and its products on Tuesday evening, during which 1,000 (relatively old-fashioned) TV sets were thrown into large garbage bins. Strict Rules. The modern "Tashlich" ceremony was held outside the Israel Broadcasting Authority's building in Jerusalem. Rabbi Yitzhak is famous for his activities which are centered on helping Jews to become more religious or observant. Many of the participants expressed their solidarity with the act, explaining that the television is a device which must never enter an ultra-Orthodox home.
Gentiles are obligated to fulfill the Seven Noahide Commandments because they are the eternal command of God, transmitted through Moses our teacher in the Torah. The main and best book on details of Noahide observance is "The Divine Code" by Rabbi Moshe Weiner.

I do not fault religious Jews who find TV to have a destructive role in a person's soul.  Most things on television are terrible. A lot of not modest people, bad language, bad ideology, gossip, etc.

Deciding not to have a TV in one's house is that person's prerogative.

However, unless a person as weak character, tv's and other modern devices help keep people in touch with the modern day world.  Living like we are in the dark ages to avoid evil things around us isn't the answer, in my opinion.  Being ridiculously sheltered is not the answer.  There is a time for everything and the real test in life is how we can overcome bad things that come our way.  That's my opinion.
If someone says something bad about you, say something nice about them. That way, both of you would be lying.

In your heart you know WE are right and in your guts you know THEY are nuts!

You don't need a TV to keep in touch with the modern day world. Computers are so much better because we use them to learn, teach and spread the Torah. If there is a film I wish to see, I go to the cinema.

That's like an anti-pencil+paper protest because it can be used better for lashon hara than sticks writing in dirt. How about make a movie about how Israel was founded, Abraham's story with all the details or a story of what the Islamic unholy story line is. Make a movie about girls that got trapped in Arab villages or the Ari Zal's story in a show.

It's not tuma, it just so happens that basically everything made for it is. We're supposed to elevate the world, not hide from it. Televisions are useful for the army.
