Have you ever stood with hands raised toward the sky and stretched and taken in a deep breath? As muscles loosen and the body is filled with fresh air, the body in its own way says thank you, I needed that. You are able to move and the mind clears up – you have just become refreshed.

I have been experiencing this very sensation but this time it is from the inside from my soul.

When I take time to sit and ponder the simple obedience of the 7 Noahide Laws and simple trust in my Creator my soul says thank you, I needed that.

The simple observance of the 7 Laws is like a morning stretch and simple trust is like taking a deep breath, bringing in fresh air – the soul is refreshed, it can move and think clearly.

Take some time to meditate on these few passages.

Ecclesiastes 7:29 “But, see this I find: God made man simple but they sought intrigues.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 “Blessed is the man the man who trust in God; God will be his refuge. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream.”

Psalm 23:2 “In lush meadows He lays me down, beside tranquil waters He leads me.”

When I ponder the 7 Laws and trusting in God – like a deep breath, my soul releases a voice that says, “I am free” – I am free from religion, I am free to be the best me I can be, I am free to walk unhindered with my Creator. I am free to walk with God and man the way I was created to.

The 7 laws are not chains, they are the protection of the Creator, our refuge.

“ beside tranquil waters He leads me.”

The 7 Noahide Laws and trust in God are tranquil waters.

Stretch, breath and be free.
Gentiles are obligated to fulfill the Seven Noahide Commandments because they are the eternal command of God, transmitted through Moses our teacher in the Torah. The main and best book on details of Noahide observance is "The Divine Code" by Rabbi Moshe Weiner.

Laws make freedom. The anarchy of the jungle isn't freedom, it's hell and constant violent struggle for survival, with everyone and thing else trying to impose their will on you. Noachide laws are there to protect freedom. People can make oppressive laws, and that's not a fun society with them, like Islamic societies. However, Hashem designed these ones to restrain others from imposing their will on you and vice versa. This can be outright, like murder, or becoming a person that has no ability to control his desire to impose his will on others, like the laws against sex crimes. It protects the freedom of animals and their enjoyment of life as well.

The stretch part is an interesting metaphor, because by keeping you from "growing into a twisted ball" by keeping you from submission to your base nature, these laws are indeed "stretching" you and helping you to grow happy and healthy in physical, psychological and spiritual ways.
