Why do former Soviets who are supposedly Jewish have Xmas trees or as they call them yolka? You would think living in Israel they would give that up!!!

It's not really a Xmas tree but it's actually for new years, for people not in the know Christmas was banned as was every other religious holiday so a member of the soviet government put New years as a public holiday and the people who were forced out of Christianity then put up a new years tree, if you ask me why Jews put them up I have no clue.
