Four Years After Saying He Voted for Bush, Trump Said He Didn’t Vote for Bush

bush_trumpHere are two quotes.

Donald Trump to Bill O’Reilly in 2005:

I voted for [George W.Bush because I think he’s got certain things that are excellent, including a tax policy that’s excellent and going to prove to be excellent, but I am not a big fan of the war in Iraq, and I’ve let a lot of people know about it, and perhaps that’s being proven to be correct.

Donald Trump to Don Imus in 2009:

I didn’t [vote for Bush] either, by the way. You’re good. I just thought that guy was a dimwit. You looked at it, and he just didn’t look like he was all there.

These two conflicting quotes come courtesy of CNN’s Kfile. Here is the audio they found:

He really tore into Bush while talking to Imus in 2009. He mused, “You look at his eyes — I mean he’d make a speech and you’d look at him and you’d say, ‘Does he even know what he’s reading?’ This guy, he was a horrible president.”

During the earlier interview, O’Reilly did express shock that Trump voted for Bush because the real estate mogul was often “bad-mouthing” the president.

Trump clarified, “”No, I wasn’t. I was bad-mouthing the war in Iraq. I’m not a big fan of the war in Iraq.”

Trump has repeatedly insisted he was against that war from the beginning, but it has been proven time and time again that he said he was for it in 2002.

Here is a third quote, straight from CNN:

A spokesperson for the Trump campaign did not return a request for comment on whether Trump voted for Bush or why he gave different answers to the question at different times.

We may never actually know whether he voted for Bush or not.
