Spineless GOP CAVES to Freedom Caucus demands, spending bill to PASS
And surprisingly, the spine of the GOP folded once again, but this time before the might of the Freedom Caucus!!
The majority of the @freedomcaucus has taken a vote to support the CR effort this evening

That means they likely have enough votes to pass the spending bill.
Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) emerged from a meeting in Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) office saying that leadership promised to have separate votes to help improve military readiness and address other national security issues. They would not be attached to the stopgap continuing resolution (CR), he added.
“Obviously, I would be recommending to our caucus, based on what I just heard, that we support the president in this particular initiative,” he said.
Members of the caucus, a band of roughly 30 conservative hard-liners, were withholding their support from the House GOP bill, despite a call from President Trump into their meeting Thursday afternoon. The White House said in a statement that Trump backed the House bill.
Here’s what they got on immigration too.
Here’s what’s part of leadership and Freedom Caucus deal: promise that leaders will whip hard on the Goodlatte bill & have a vote on a conservative immigration bill in House. Also will vote within 10 legislative days on a DOD funding bill that busts budget caps.
