Three Rockets Launched at Israel From Gaza, Code Red Alert Not Activated

Residents in southern Israel had no warning when Gaza terrorists shelled southern Israel late Friday afternoon.

Hamas-rockets1Jews living along the southern border of Israel were attacked by [PLO] terrorists in Gaza late Friday afternoon but the Code Red incoming alert siren did not activate.

The residents were caught unawares when the shelling started.

One of the mortar shells landed in the Eshkol Regional Council district north of Kissufim, just east of Gaza, in an open field less than a kilometer (about half a mile) from the security fence.

Local officials reported no damage to property and no physical injuries to residents in the area.

At least one more projectile – either a Qassam rocket or another mortar shell – landed within Gaza territory, officials said.

Three rockets were fired at southern Israel by Gaza terrorists on Thursday night. All of them landed within Gaza, close to the security fence along Israel’s southern border, near the northern and central areas of the enclave.

As happened several days earlier as well, Code Red incoming rocket alert sirens were also not triggered by Thursday night’s rocket launch.

IDF soldiers were deployed to the area to search for shrapnel that may have landed on the Israeli side of the border nevertheless.
