Trump Blames Republican National Committee for Getting Booed at Debate

donald-trump-south-carolina-debateDonald Trump set his sights on the National Republican Committee again, saying their continued, supposedly-unfair treatment of him is the reason why he got booed so much at the CBS debate Saturday night.

Speaking at a campaign event today in South Carolina, Trump said that college students who had tickets to the debate probably sold them to lobbyists and special interest audience members. The plutocrat naturally boasted about how he won the whole thing, but repeatedly hammered the RNC for the “terrible job” they did.

“I signed a pledge, but it’s a double-edged pledge,” Trump said. “And as far as I’m concerned, they’re in default of their pledge when they do that.”

For the past two days, Trump has been saying his unpopularity after his exchanges with Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz was a result of the distribution of tickets to attendees. Trump also seemed to tie this to his repeated threat to run a campaign independent from the RNC if they continue to not treat him as he deems fair.

Business Insider spoke with RNC communications director, Sean Spicer, who said that Trump’s claims are completely untrue.

“Each candidate received 100 tickets which is the largest amount so far. The candidates as a whole were the largest group of ticket holders,” Spicer said.
