Israeli Team Helps To Discover Massive Black Hole
(IsraelNN.com) A team of Israeli scientists from Tel Aviv University worked with scientists from Germany and the United States to discover a massive black hole in the Messier 33 galaxy. The scientists’ discover was published on Wednesday.
The black hole has a mass roughly 16 times that of the sun, and is the largest black hole found to rotate with a companion star. Its companion star is approximately 70 times the mass of the sun. The star rotates around the black hole every 3.45 days in a pattern known as an eclipsing binary.
