Here's a little poem that I wrote:
« on: November 05, 2007, 09:42:12 PM »
I started writing it last month, and I finished almost all of it a couple of weeks later.  The name of the woman in question is left blank, since I have yet to find that special woman.

It is set to this tune: http://www.konzulatsfrj.com/HejSloveni.mp3

Who's that woman with that orange hair
And a complexion so fair?
I don't know how to talk to her,
But I do know that I love her.

She has seen me, the words escape me
I'm unable to express my feelings.
|: Oh, how I wish to say, then
To this young maiden
I love you, ___ :|

How did these feelings come across me?
I see her, and I feel weak.
Is this true love, or a fantasy
In the midst of a daydream?

Will she reject me, detest me
If to her, I express my feelings?
|: When shall come the day,
When I have the courage to say,
I love you, ___ :|

It's my hope to the Almighty Lord
That I get to see her more
The way she looks completely stuns me
But I love her demeanor the most.

Are we meant to be, the words come to me,
I pray that such is our destiny
|: Now I can finally say,
From my lips to her face,
I love you, ___ :|

In thy power Almighty, trusting,
Did our fathers build of old;
Strengthen then, O Lord, their children
To defend, to love, to hold
That the heritage they gave us
For our children yet may be:
Bondsmen only to the Highest
And before the whole world free.
As our fathers trusted humbly,
Teach us, Lord, to trust Thee still:
Guard our land and guide our people
In Thy way to do Thy will.

Dude ...I hope you didnt show this to your crush. If you did then its more likley for Hillary to nuke Iran than for this girl to ever date you.

I agree with Mills, Hail its very nice and I am sure the girl will love it. Just make sure she has red hair.  ;)

I think if a man gone to the effort of creating something special for a woman it should be treasured.

Noooooooooooo

You are coming off too heavily. And by the looks of it you are giving your respect away and you don't even know her. She has to earn it first. Don't be a love sick puppy.

Take my advice: have a chat with her and ask for her phone number. Wait 5 days and give her a ring and ask her out to Starbucks for a coffee during the week. Save the "special stuff" for when you are married.

If you need any advice in dating ask Merkava aka Dr.Love

Its a great poem...

I just think he is coming too heavy too soon. Writing sweet poems may work in Hollywood. But its the streets out here and dating is a jungle. Its just like war. You have to plan your love campaign smartly.

There is no question that maryjoe is a troll, who has nothing productive to contribute here.

Why does it stink ? If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. I think its a great poem. Don't ban her. Add her to our singles profiles under "desperately seeking man"

Great stuff ...souns like he has really won you heart. No worries , I am happy for you !

I must admit you are one of the few exceptions - in 99.9% of the cases writing a sweet poem leads to failure. Specially if the woman is a knock out.

So back to the topic. Hail Columbia if you wanna win this lady over you need:
1) Confidence
2) You need to be a Challenge
3) You will need Self Control
4) You will need a great sense of humour
