Knesset Advances Jerusalem Protection Law

by Ezra HaLevi

(IsraelNN.com) The Knesset passed the first reading of a bill initiated by Likud Knesset Member Gideon Sa'ar, which requires a two-thirds majority of Knesset Members (MKs) to change the status of Jerusalem.

Currently, it would take 61 of the 120 MKs to change the Basic Law: Jerusalem, which annexed Jerusalem's eastern neighborhoods and the Old City to the capital.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has floated the idea of surrendering parts of the capital to the Palestinian Authority (PA), which demands the entire area of Jerusalem liberated in the 1967 Six-Day War.

It is too bad that it doesn't go to a vote to all JEWISH citizens of Israel instead of the Knesset.  Who knows perhaps the Knesset will become the stacking of the Supreme Court by 1933's FDR who "progressed" socialist principles and undermine the Constitution.....

That's been the muSSlims' claim all along. They said they want pre 67 Jerusalem.......that's the Old City.

I'm so sick of this.  It shouldn't even be an issue.  Any sane individual would have thrown out the Muslims in 1968.  Giving back South "Lebanon", the entire Sinai and Gush Katif is purely traitorous in my opinion.  What nation gets surrounded by armies yelling for its extermination and than REWARDS their deeds?

G-d the Knesset....amongst other Establishement should be obliterated while in session....  Bastards...  Fcuk sakes, Jerusalem is not written within the Qur'an....not once.  What an antisemitic sham.  These Bolsheviks are WORSE than the Muslims, Nazis, Communists....imo...

I know!

Talk about NUTS!!!!

In 1967 they had an absolute thumping victory. The muSSlim world was realing and begging for it's life. Israel was loved, admired and feared and could have done ANYTHING it wanted. Like chuck the sandapes out.

What did they do? Moshe Dyan stops the arabs from fleeing and hands over the Temple Mount!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, they can say what they want. It is not theirs, it never was and whilst the Zohar Chadash tells us Yerushalayim will be conquered for 9 years before Mashiach liberates it for ever and build the third Temple, it will never be theirs either.

It has virtually been conquered by the MuSSlims since 1967.  It, like all of Israel, most certainly hasn't been liberated by any stretch.  I wish the Jews of Israel and the Liberal Diaspora had as much respect and emotion for themselves and their own as they do for the Arabs...

It's always been like that. Rabbi Kahane used to say so. Liberal Jews care more about subway muggers, rapists and terrorists (who attack Jews) than they do other Jews.

It's also because we haven't liberated it that we are criticized. On the one hand we say it's ours, but we don't take it. Therefore countries view us as an illegal occupier

This is absolutely true. Jews were scared of their own unexpected victory in 1967.

The thing that made the world respect Israel in the 67 wars was the fact it did what it needed to do. They were the envy of the world back then. Today with all the back pedaling all that admiration is gone and you have the situation that unfolds as we speak.

Things werent so great back then. Mr. Dayan told all the Arabs living in the conquered territories to stay when they were ready to leave, imagine how much trouble could have been saved.

The same fellow that plundered the historical sites during his "archeology" ventures?  The same fellow, with that Socialist C-NT Golda Mabovitz that almost got Israel destroyed due to her immense arrogance in '73?  The ONLY thing in my book that Mr.  woops Mrs. Mabovitz-Meyerson-Meir did during her entire time of Prime Minister was to openly contradict their being a "P-lestinian People", Operation Wrath of G-d.

During the repeated shelling by Egypt during the Suez Canal in the War of Attrition, Meir should have appealed to the UN (just for justification) and than carpet bombed Cairo!

From "Wikipedia": Meir believed that Israel could not depend on European countries to supply Israel with military equipment, and that as a result, the only country who could come to Israel's assistance would be the United States. Fearing that the U.S. would be wary of intervening if Israel were perceived as initiating the hostilities, Meir finally decided against launching a pre-emptive strike. In hindsight, this was apparently a wise decision; then-U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger later confirmed Meir's assessment by stating that if Israel had launched a pre-emptive strike, Israel would not have received "so much as a nail". Meir's decision may have been crucial in making Operation Nickel Grass politically feasible for the United States.  My answer to this would have been...there wouldn't have been a '73 War IF Israel pre-empted!  Israel wouldn't have needed "Operation Nickel Grass".  I believe there was FAR more to this story than is posted on Wikipedia.  Meir, didn't believe the Arabs would strike in her arrogance combined with the incompetance of Yitzak Rabin...

Again, Kahane was right and the Mapai, Labor Zionists: "Jewish" Socialists were wrong then and are emphatically wrong now.  My two cents and out on this subject...

Of course Kahane was right. The Labor and Socialists have always been blind and ignorant even Jabotinsky thought that we could eventually make peace with Arabs
