Buchanan supports Ron Paul.  I checked out his blog a while ago and it basically said so.

His writings seem to be decent, even though I don't agree with his views on Israel.

Also, his definition of neo-con is a liberal who pretends to be conservative, not a "Jewish conservative."

In an interview, he sort of praised people who had immigrated, during the 20th century, from Ireland, Germany (I don't think he was referring to Nazis) and Italy and he actually also included Jews.

Ask Chaim--Buchanus' mother is German and he is extremely proud of his Teutonic heritage.

Buchanan is a dinosaur, a fossil.  In one of his books he admitted the he thought the US should not have gone after the Nazis in WWII.   And it doesn't surprise me now, that he thinks we shouldn't support Israel.

Here are Auster's comments.  I agree with Auster, that Buchanan is worthy of reading, but like Auster, I'm not an unconditional supporter.  I also agree that he has his political flaws, but I'd have to say the Bush administration is worse than him.

That's more taqqiyah. He says we shouldn't have pursued the Nazis. What he really would have liked would be for America to join the Axis.

That was the real agenda of the "America Firsters"--that they knew better than to publicly divulge, just like the PLO publicly does not say it wishes to annihilate Israel and all non-Muslims.

Obviously there are some cases where intervention is justified and Buchanan is in error not to recognize that.  But that doesn't mean his books aren't worth reading, because he also makes good points.  One can read a book without worshiping the author.

Pat has some good work on the population crisis in the West. But it defeats the purpose when he hates Israel and seems to have no problem with Muslims and Arabs.
