‘Abandonment of Pollard a Symptom’
(IsraelNN.com) Esther Pollard, whose husband Jonathan has been imprisoned in the United States for 22 years for passing classified information to Israel, spoke Tuesday at the New Jewish Congress. Esther Pollard said that the Israeli government’s decision to abandon Pollard and not seek his release was a symptom of the state’s characteristics for the past two decades.
“Ever since Pollard was abandoned,” she said, “the state has abandoned the captive soldiers, the Jews of Hevron and Gush Katif, and those living in the north and in Sderot.” The state has failed to protect its citizens every time its ability to do so was tested, she said.
