The Right Perspective will be interviewing Wilhelm's father, Dr. Lets Pretorius, tonight at approximately 7am Saturday morning South African time (midnight EDT, 0500 GMT) at www.therightperspective.com and taking your phone calls on this and other issues.

The Boerevolk Representative Council (BRC) strongly denounces the violation of the rights of one of the accused in the so-called “Boeremag Case.”

Mr Wilhelm Pretorius was physically assaulted when prison wardens wanted to confiscate a skipping rope from him and he refused to hand over the rope.

Mr Pretorius was notified by the prison authorities that the skipping rope, which he and two other accused had been using daily for exercise during the past four years, held a "risk of escape," and that he had to hand it in.

Mr. Pretorius obtained permission more than four years ago to possess and utilize the skipping rope when he was held in the "local" jail, and a court order confirmed that all rights awarded to him and other accused in "local" would still be applicable in C-max (where they are currently being detained).

The wardens who confiscated the rope from him were aware of the court order that protects him. Five warders participated in the incident, which was witnessed by the other “Boeremag” accused, and the incident was apparently recorded on video.

When Mr Pretorius wanted to file complaints against the wardens, the SAPD officer who was supposed to take the statement, Inspector Baloyi, refused to take down the statement in Afrikaans, and also refused to do any further investigation. Complaints against the wardens include assault, malicious damage to property, armed robbery, and contempt of court.

This very clearly constitutes discrimination against members of the Boer nation by both the Department of Correction Services and the South African Police Service.

The BRC is currently obtaining legal advice in order to follow up the matter with the Police Service and the Department of Correction Services, the Red Cross, as well as the Human Rights Commissions of both South Africa and the United Nations.

In thy power Almighty, trusting,
Did our fathers build of old;
Strengthen then, O Lord, their children
To defend, to love, to hold
That the heritage they gave us
For our children yet may be:
Bondsmen only to the Highest
And before the whole world free.
As our fathers trusted humbly,
Teach us, Lord, to trust Thee still:
Guard our land and guide our people
In Thy way to do Thy will.
