Possible end to writers strike
« on: February 10, 2008, 05:39:32 PM »
Too bad that there is a possible end to the writers strike in Hollywood.  I wanted the strike to continue through the end of the month when they have the stupid Oscars so that way they will only announce the winners in a news conference like they did with the Golden Globes.  That's the only way I can tolarate the baloney.

Ive completely lost any respect or support for all 'creative' entertainment types, after they are all lock-step supporters for Obama.

I also support the writers.  But, most of the shows are so bad, they should stay on strike.

Some screenplays are very well written, but most of the stuff on network television is beyond bad, it's simply un-watchable, especially the formulaic lame sitcoms.  Dear G-d that's some bad writing. O0

I guess now they'll be back to producing left wing propaganda and stories packed with politically correct lies.

Turkey must get out of NATO. NATO must get out of Kosovo-Serbia. Croats must get out of Crajina. All muslims must get out of Christian and Jewish land. Turks must get out of Cyprus. Turks must get out of "Istanbul". "Palestinians" must get out of Israel. Israel must become independent from USA.

I try not to watch TV unless I'm doing something else at the same time (reading, eating dinner, cleaning).  What do I watch?  I prefer documentaries on Animal Planet or Discovery channel and the like.  Perhaps a decent movie is on HBO.  I follow sports, so I'd check out SportsCenter or the ESPN news channel, or a game of one of the teams I follow.  The only sitcom I ever really enjoyed was Seinfeld.  My mother tried to get me into Frasier and the Golden Girls and they are pretty amusing when I catch an episode if I'm over at her place.   O0

Oh and I forget, as a guilty pleasure I have the Howard Stern on Demand channel, though he sometimes can get a bit dirty.  Mills, what have you acted in? O0

While I do think that the networks were screwing the writers by not giving them money off of internet sales, I also think that 90% of what comes out of hollywood and on television is digusting and harmful, so I don't really have much sympathy for the writers.

I do however have alot of sympathy for the average working people, the stagehands and people who work on the sets of these shows, whom have no say about their content, that have been put out of work by this strike. I'm glad for them and their families that they will be back at work.

Being a strong Unionist I hope they get what they need, I hate seeing big business screwing workers out of their rights.

OH I'm SOOO happy its coming to an end. I've supported the writers all the way!

That's very good to know! I know some or many forum members might be anti-union. But I'm pro-union all the way, and happy to see that another forum member (especially our moderator :) ) to have this position too. The writers just want their fair share of pennies from DVD sales on webcast shows. Is that really too much to ask for?

Finally, we can back back on track with 24, Heroes, Till Death, and all the other great shows that have suffered as a result of all this!

These writers are responsible for corrupting the youth's, and people's minds.
Ideally, they , and their media-corporations should have no job anymore, unless they bring a righteous message.
It is this media , that prevents JTF, and true right-wing groups from growing as a mass movement.
This media is preventing us from arming our nations and people against the third-world takeover,
and it is actively trying to transform the USA and any other Western nation into a banana-republic.

Unions  AND the major media "corportraitors" with their soviet-style propaganda-monopolies are all socialist , marxist groups,
with an amount of power, bigger than any Church ever had.

That need to be dealth with.

The artists should evisage ideals conform to Torah, instead of mocking it.

Hollywood leads is to Sodom and Gomorra.

I don't care about any self-hating rat that writes scripts for "desperate houswives".

And I even hope they will get severe punishment, for their crimes.

I think it best not to "paint with a broadbrush" all members of the Screen Writers' Guild.

True, many turn out garbage, but many more can be involved in producing religious films, excellent documentaries, investigative journalism, etc...

It's quite an all-encompassing union, and among its membership are still active alumni who've distinguished themselves in the past for excellence.

I prefer to "cherry-pick" those from within the union who actually should be castigated for doing harm.

Often is heard the cry "Hollywood Liberals", but the fact today is that Toronto, British Columbia, and elsewhere have replaced "Tinseltown", thanks to outsourcing of American jobs.

There are also a good number of very conservative writers and actors in Hollywood, but they are ignored by the media these days.
