Very strange case this may  hurt Us-Japan relationtip


Condemnations rang out from several corners in Japan Tuesday after a 38-year-old U.S. Marine was accused of raping a 14-year-old local girl on the southern island of Okinawa..

Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda deplored the incident as "unforgivable" and Okinawa authorities are bracing for protests if Staff Sgt. Tyrone Luther Hadnott is charged in the Sunday night attack. Under Japanese law, a person can be held up to 10 days without charges.

The episode echoes a similar incident more than a decade ago that strained relations between the United States and Japan.

It's no secret that our U.S. Marines are usually known as being an upstanding group of dedicated individuals, it is most unfortunate when a "bad apple" does something this lewd and vile to tarnish their good name.

Tyrone is an Irish name that melangianas (for whatever reason) use a lot nowadays. Just like McDonald.. Irish last name, lots of blacks have it..

An incident like this occurs every now and then in Japan.

The Okinowans, the majority of whom want the "Yankees Out", always take full advantage of such outrages to overreact; organizing 'media event' demonstrations denouncing the U.S. presence.

but the soldier raped a little girl : obviously the people would get angry.When a soldier rapes a civilian generally it is a media event because  a soldier has to have diipline but when the same act is commited by a foreign soldier the responsibility is on govt that it cannot protect its citizens as these types of incidence have happened before.
