There was an earthqueqe here [Israel]

But it was a small one. It was at 12:50 PM or something like that. I think it's 5:50 AM in USA time.

It was 5.3 on Richter Scale and it was in the center of Israel (and I live in the north). I was reading a book while being on my bed and suddenly it started to shake. It's the first time I felt earthqueqe, it was weird....

oh dear? I hope no one was hurt?

5.3 is fairly strong...it should have been on the news, but nothing.

Israel lies on fault lines and is prone to earthquakes.  Perhaps this is all the more reason why G-d in His great wisdom said that Jews should inhabit the land from the Nile to the Euphrates.  That way, people could live in small, one story buildings that would not kill many if they collapsed in an earthquake, and then they would need lots of land in which to disperse the population instead of piling people up in dangerous high rises.

Jerusalem has been completely destroyed by earthquakes several times.

It is prophecized that a gigantic world-wide earthquake will begin in Israel, and spread from there throughout the entire planet, shaking even the mountains down so that they are flat.
