But at least he voiced his real fear: that Hesder units could refuse to obey orders en masse!

That's why despite what they say, the chillonim will never enforce the Tal Law and make Haredim do Zahal service. Haredim with guns would make Hesder look like pussycats, and would turn Meah Shearim, Bayit Vegan and Bnei Brak in to mini-Beiruts!

Right, but a Jew still needs to wear a yamulka or some kind of head covering.  Or at least they should.

If every Haredi did one year compulsory Zahal service, and every Chilloni did one year compulsory yeshivah study, THEN you're starting to talk about an Am Yisrael that's actually worthy of the name!
