OK. Here are my arguments.
In yesterday’s speech Obama condemned Wright’s statements about AIDS and 9/11, which were not parts of Wirght’s NAACP speech, but of the speech he made in his church, after which Obama refused to disown him.
In fact, Wright’s NAACP speech wasn’t even 5% offensive of what the first speech was.
So how come you condemn your pastor after his second speech and refer to his first speech, after which everything was seemingly fine.
Here’s what I think.
Obama saw that not disowning Wright after the first speech harmed him in PA, so he wanted to do that, but…. what to do? – he already refused to denounce his pastor.
Therefore he needed another reason. NAACP was a good one to do that.
