the website claimed it was a hardware failure.

My guess is the server they were running on, most likely the harddrive failed. It happens, It's likely the administrator only had a backup from may 7th or was doing weekly backups. Sometimes it's possible to recover the entire database through a level level read or data recovery services though that can be expensive.

The bad thing for me is that I lost so many posts of valuable information that I had saved to fight Obama on the Jews Against Obama page. I used these a lot to refer to when posting on other boards.
Is there no way to retrieve the lost posts?
