There is a difference between saying something righteous and being wholly righteous. Good deeds are righteous and they along with the bad deeds, make you. Calling yourself righteous may be vain and improper but to suggest others so is not. You are suggesting that they are on the right path and are doing good, example=Chaim.
Mistakes are between us and GOD , unless they are commited upon man. In that case ftf you would be saying that we are all evil. Evil is a too strong of a word, i believe we are human. We make mistakes yes, lies and impure thoughts are one of them. But to be EVIL is more then a mistake, it is an intentionally commited sin provoked by hatred and determination to destroy, defame etc.....
Satan is evil, not every human. Although some can be comparable to Satan.

No, I did not say we are evil, your missing part of what I said "No human being is 100% evil" however, no one is completely righteous, not me, not Chaim, no one. I therefore believe it is wrong to call any human righteous.

The righteous are those who trust that they will be vindicated by the Lord God. (Psalm 37:12-13).
Yes but since we believe in a righteous Lord and a righteous religion. We should try at most to be righteous, since maybe this cannot be acheived, the one who has mantained some form of a righteous status, can be eligible for the word as they are good people compared to everyone else. Its God's words not mine.
