Norm Coleman keeps his seat...

He squeaked it out over Al Franken.
It was just reported on Fox.

This is good.  It should have never been this close, but the idiots in St.Paul and Minneapolis would vote for a plunger if it ran as a Democrat.  Coleman is a good man.  He was a strong voice in the Oil For Food scandal a few years back.

Minnesota will likely go to a re-count.  The last numbers that I saw indicated a difference of <800 votes in over 2.5 million cast, an incredibly close shave.

It appears that incumbent Republican senators held on by their fingernails in Oregon, Georgia, and Alaska also.  But I must confess that I find this to be cold comfort right now.

I'm so happy Franken went down.  Even by a small margin.
I'm flabbergasted that people like Murtha, and even Lautenberg in NJ, were put back in office.
I guess in the case of Murtha's constituents they like being called redneck bigots.  ???

I'm not looking for comfort Ithaca-37.  There is none to be found.  I feel the same way you do.  I just hate Al Franken.  >:(

It appears Coleman will win, but a recount will more than likely be demanded by Franken.  His defeat was one of the few highlights of a otherwise disill night.
