Two English expressions

This is an English test. The situation is, that you want to introduce your business friend to your wife.

I’d like you to meet my wife.

or

I’d like you to meet my woman.

Imo this English sounds both strange. What do you think?

I think you may be confusing it with "I’d like you to meet my hoe."

when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

I would argue that Swedish is closer than German.

I'd like you to meet my wife

This is the more proper way to say this. When one calls your wife 'your woman' you are making her a sex-object. A wife is a partner in a relationship. I believe the person being spoken to could derive that the spouse you are talking about is a woman {assuming you are in a traditional relationship}.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14
