Both of them were wicked, Sombart seems to be in addition to his love to Socialism at least in his late years turned into an anti-semite. But their thesis are very influential.

Weber said, that the Calvinist businessmen were responsible for creating modern capitalism and Sombart said it were the Jewish businessmen.

Imo none of them was right. Imo it was a process of technological change, that some groups like the two mentioned joined only with more success than others.

I think that capitalism had been evolving in correspondence with the weakening of the stranglehold of the church. I think the first banks in Europe were established in Venice and other Italian provinces. The Venetians were Catholics but not particularly religious nor pious.

Look Mord, this is one of the elitist of his time. Of course he was a convinced socialist. He is quite famous for his sociological research. Specially in the USA. Even today.

But it is obvious, that the person who wrote this sentences belonges to the mental asylum and not as Professor at the university

And I doubt seriously that todays Socialists and specially socialist professors have more sanity and reason.

It seems to be a hereditary disease.
