What's to be done when reality meets satire?
« on: December 12, 2008, 05:50:42 AM »
What I'm referring to is a tape of recent vintage that I heard on the radio yesterday, with that great spiritual leader Jeremiah Wright denouncing his native country on the anniversary of 'December 7, 1941, when the Americans dropped the atomic bomb on Japan.'

One of the better lines in the farcical comic movie Animal House is John Belushi coming to his feet and screaming, 'Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?'  And you may remember that 'where are they now' bit at the end, where Belushi is referred to as a senator.

So, years after a raunchy comedy, we have arrived:  Crazed and brain-dead Reverend Wright may not be a senator, but he's got the ear of the president.

Stop the world, Lord, I want to get off now ......

Yeah it's really scary because things that would have been a bad joke in the past are reality now, such as a Muslim being president.
