The Senate passed Obama's stimulus plan and the Dow Jones goes below 8000.

Three so called Republican Senators voted for the " Stimulus" Bill:

1 ) Susan Collins ( Maine )
2) Olympia Snowe ( Maine )
3 ) Arlen Specter ( Pennsylvania )

When the time comes for them to run for re-election and they elect to run for another term, I think we should strongly consider backing other Republicans who run against them.

The media will say... Stocks plunged because the 'Stimulus' plan is too small. That way they can still blame the GOP.

Here in PA Republicans are saying we will back a DEMOCRAT against Specter, because even a Democrat is better than a Fifth columnist RINO!

Stocks will rise again tomorrow. My companies stock was not so negatively affected by todays news. I dont think the stock market is a good indicator of whether Washington is pursuing effective business policies. I have seen my stocks rise against other bad news.

Believe it or not... the stock market is historically one of the best 'leading' indicators there is.

There is obviously a lot of emotion and other noise... but its more intelligent than people think.

As far as predicting whats gonna happen tomorrow... you have a 50% chance you are right.

Arlen Specter would still win next time because Pennsylvania's election results are tilted toward left because of only 2 counties - Philedelphia and Allegheny. Philedelphia and Pittsburgh are metropolitan cities with large black population. For example in the recent presidential election only these 2 counties voted Democratic and all other counties voted Republican but the population density is very low in rural PA. So Arlen Specter needs only these 2 counties to win.

The market has been a thorn in Obama's side. He and his cronies expected an Obama bounce from his election, inauguration, and passing of the stimulus plan. Every single major Obama event was greeted by Wall Street with a sell off. Even if some tech companies go up, what matters is if the entire Dow Jones, Nasdaq and S&P take a dive. He told Wall Street today that they expected overnight success. What they expect is a business friendly president, which they don't have! I hope your company does well but will it help your business if they up the taxes for the investors who keep your company going? If they tax the company more, making it harder to post a profit, so they can have after school snack programs, head start programs and give every moron a digital convertor box which they would buy anyways? That's money they will have to take from somewhere and I know a lot of people who thought things were good until yesterday; they announced layoffs. Companies can't really go far without the finance sector and if those who drive the market feel the pinch, it and everyone connected to it will go nowhere. The investors don't act on some silly speech, they act when they see policies that will grow business. Obama will grow government and prop up his dumb, hard core supporters. All the black holes will be fed...the homeless, state government, education, ghetto black people and the people who want to be like them, etc. They will be back again with their hand out and then who will bail out the US government?

I have to respond because I have seen people retreating from what the United States has become. People are afraid to invest or do anything that makes them visible to the government. The name of the game is "Who do you Trust?"

They don't want to draw attention to themselves, and this is a bad situation for the economy, which tells me no matter what is implemented, it won't work.

It takes the American people to keep the economy going, not the darn government!!!!!!!

How sad we had to learn this the hard way. If people would have just done their homework, and connected to JTF, and other informative websites, we would have been a heck of alot better off under Sarah Palin and even McCain.

At least we would not have become a socialist nation.

The only concern about supporting a Democrat in a General Election U.S. Senate Race is if the Democrats gain 60 or more seats in the Senate, they will have a Filibuster proof Senate.

I hope and pray that Arlen Specter and the two Maine so called Republican Senators either decide not to run for another term or a defeated in a Primary. In a general election, these 3 would be choosing the lesser of the evils, though it would be very tempting to vote against them.

What's hard to even comprehend is the damage that Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrat lead Congress have caused in JUST 22 days since January 20. This isn't even a full month. This is the part of the situation in the U.S. that's probably the most challenging for me to deal with.

I agree eb22, as conservatives, this really IS getting to be too much to bear. Even in my state, our governor (Beebe) is a Democrap, and everyday in the paper I am reading things he is passing FOR them and not for the good of the state. It's starting to feel like EVERYONE is against us! But, the ONLY consolation I had in this election, was KNOWING there are more of US than them. Hopefully, most are just waiting and letting them hang themselves, but I don't know how much longer I can wait!

It could be sooner... BUT the closer to Nov 2010, and to Nov 2012 the better.

Those who hate Obama are BETTER protected. They have taken their money OUT of the economy... and haven't lost a penny.

HOWEVER!!! his stimulus plan is created to ensure that the right-wing gets NO MONEY. and that white males get NO money. Its going to ACORN, Community organizers, endowments for art and culture, and almost NONE (5%) goes to building infrastructure... which would employ blue collar white males.

So the stimulus plan is about keeping the $ in the hands of the left.
