When middle class gets sick, they become poor. When poor gets sick- they become... sicker.
Correct me if I am wrong. Don't the Communist Countries run universal health care?
Communist Countries stripped their citizens of freedom and give them health care
and long lines for bread, dairy products, etc.
I would think that if someone is really sick, they could die waiting in line for bread to eat before they get to the hospital to perhaps die in line again waiting for the health care.
Universal health care is not a good idea, our Country has services for those
who are truly needy, health care included.
Communists pretend to run universal health care. They dress some proletarians in white robes and let them play doctors and nurses. Do you know Americans lives are a couple of years shorter than countries who do have universal health care- like Austria, Switzerland, the nordic countries... And also American health care is the most expensive, not just the services, you pay more for drugs than other countries.
Americans' life styles are also different from the Swiss. More Americans I assume are OBESE, sit and watch TV all day long, do recreational drugs etc.
And where are all these subsidized drugs coming from? Where were they invented? A lot were invented in the US. Suppose the US were to mandate drug companies to lower their prices to next to nothing. How many companies would be bankrupted? How many new medicines would NOT be developed?
Oh and with those companies bankrupted, the FREE-RIDER PARASITE socialized/subsidized medicine countries will have to DO WITHOUT.
It all goes back to the SIMPLE truth that MONEY DOES NOT GROW ON TREES.
Wonder drugs do not magically appear at the wave of a fairy's wand.
People are unhealthy for a variety of reasons.
400lb Americans who are sitting on a $3,000 couch watching their $2000 flat screen TV with $100/month cable have VOLUNTARILY gained the extra 200lbs, have voluntarily shelled out thousands of dollars on "entertainment" and then decide they "can't afford" health insurance, and "don't have the time" to exercise. Nor do they go to the grocery store to buy lettuce and carrots. They go to a "drive-thru" fast food restaurant, or order pizza from their aforementioned couch.
Wah-wah Americans as a whole are less healthy than Japanese/Swiss. It has little to nothing to do with how "expensive" health care is in America.
